Updates

The way these updates work is that you post whatever you want your fellow readathoners to see TODAY. Whether that's your progress for the previous day, your reading-in-place report, an incredibly witty tweet about the book you're reading, or a hygge reading picture you posted on Instagram, link it here. The linky will be open for 24 hours. There will be another linky tomorrow. Please include a DIRECT LINK to your update so we don't have to go clicking around to find it.

If you have questions, please tweet us @boutofbooks or email us (boutofbooks at gmail dot com).

Bout of Books 31 Sign Up

Are you ready to SIGN UP?
THIS IS WHERE YOU SIGN UP.

Here's what you have to do:

1. Post on your site, Twitter, Tumblr, Goodreads, YouTube, Instagram or Facebook account and declare your intentions to join us.  It's EASY. We ask you share info to help spread the word. Please link back to us so others can find us here.

If you're posting on your blog, grab the official blurb (below) and our button (in the sidebar) and create a post. (Need an example? Check out Kelly's (incredibly simple) Bout of Books 31 post!)
The Bout of Books readathon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It’s a weeklong readathon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 10th and runs through Sunday, May 16th in YOUR time zone. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are reading sprints, Twitter chats, and exclusive Instagram challenges, but they’re all completely optional. For all Bout of Books 31 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
Want to post on Twitter? We've written a tweet for you.
I'm taking part in the Bout of Books experience!

etc.
(And if you have questions on how to find a direct link, we have a post for that!)

Bout of Books 31 Call for Experts

We need YOU.

The #boutofbooks-ers community is mighty. But your hosts are not always able to jump in, answer questions, and cheer everyone on. Also, why limit the fun to Kelly and Amanda?

That's where Bout of Books experts come in.

What makes a person a Bout of Books expert, you ask?
  • You've participated in AT LEAST four Bout of Books prior to Bout of Books 31
  • You love Bout of Books and want to make sure everyone knows how awesome it is
  • You're willing to commit some of your free time to helping us
  • You love connecting with fellow book lovers and cheering them on
If you're chosen as an expert, you get to visit #boutofbooks-ers' blogs and comment on their posts--tell them how awesome they are and how well they're doing. WHO DOESN'T LOVE SPREADING LOVE?!?!?

NEW THIS TIME: Experts may be asked to help out on the Bout of Books Discord during the read-a-thon.

We will be closing this form on May 3rd. If you're interested in helping us, make sure you get on our list before then!

Bout of Books 30.5 Starts March 8

 Hello, #BoutOfBooks-ers!

Next week, from March 8 to 14, we'll be hosting an in-between Bout of Books over on our new Discord!

If you plan to read, want to read, or just want to connect with fellow readers next week, join our Discord. We don't have plans for Twitter chats, daily Instagram challenges, or even official reading-in-place times. Just reading, just connecting. Because our Discord is still very new, we'd love your help and feedback in testing out the platform for hosting reading sprints as well as other bookish discussion.

Come and experiment on Discord with us. We'll take your feedback and (hopefully) start integrating Discord into our regularly scheduled Bout of Books read-a-thons.

And, of course, let's read!

Questions? Pop over to our Discord or tweet us @boutofbooks.
